If food is the way to a person’s heart, then dessert is the window to that soul. They gave a sense of completion and satisfaction that is one of the best feelings in the world. Mumbai is a host to multiple restaurants and has some beautiful desserts from all across the world. I have captured a few of my favorites and I am pretty sure you guys would enjoy it too.
Starting with the D’Crepes Cafe in Thane, this tiny cafe located in the insides of an alley serves a dessert which is close to the heart. The Austrian Mud Pie is a no-nonsense, straight up delight with a soft and crunchy base loaded with a smooth, gooey and succulent chocolate mousse. This pie is warmth and soulfulness in each bite. The texture and taste are the absolute best and they will leave you filled with joy and ecstasy.
For Churros, a traditional Spanish dessert, it is the simplicity which is the most difficult to achieve. This simple fried doughy delicacy has a texture and flavor, if not achieved up to the correct proportions can ruin the entire dish. Amor Churros has not only achieved this texture and flavor but also the perfect quantity too. The quality is at its best and the chocolate is thick, slightly bitter and saucy. From all the Churros that I have tried, these are the best in town and you will surely find yourself craving for more!
Waffles have taken over the town and London Bubble has taken over the waffles. Their Bubble waffles are soft yet crispy and their Blackjack Bubble Waffle is a complete bomb loaded with charcoal ice cream, chocolatey drizzle and loads of sprinkles. It is impossible to finish this without getting messy and moreover willingly so! It is huge, it is filling and it has all the elements which will keep you craving for more.
Next one is the Brownie Waffle from the Bombay Coffee House.If you get the flavors of a brownie in a crispy and smooth texture of a waffle, there is not much more that you need to make a perfect dessert. Four quarter pieces of these chocolatey waffles are served with a dollop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce. The chocolate compliments the brownie batter and completes this dessert in the most beautiful way possible.
We also have the famous Deconstructed Black Forest from KODE, a freestyle bar and kitchen. They have converted our all time favorite classic the black forest cake into its most delicious version possible. The deconstruction allows us to enjoy blocks of their chocolate mousse which have the most creamy texture with cherry flavored butter cream snow which just melts in the mouth. The chocolate mud, is served like a fudge is the element which adds warmth to the dish and brings all the elements together to produce the most powerful explosion of flavor in your mouth, which you definitely won’t regret.
If we are talking about desserts, it is impossible to leave cheesecakes behind. They speak to our soul and Bastian does the best job at curating these delightful little devils which give you a sense of ecstasy. Their Slice of Rocher has the perfect pair of crunchy nutella flakes and hazelnut milk chocolate which will make your world go round. The cherry on top is the dark chocolate cookie which gives it the perfect completion. This melts in the mouth and has just that right amount of crunch which is the sign of a perfect cheesecake.
Now, let’s move to the unique cookie zone, from which the skillet cookie is one of my favourites. It is essentially a blend of tender chunkiness with a loaded flavor of butter, chocolate and sugar. Playlist pizzeria serves the warmest skillet pizza cookie with just these right textures and is topped with vanilla and chocolate ice cream, drizzled with chocolate sauce. Chocolate chips, ice cream, cookie and a warm pan are the perfect combo for your dessert solutions and this one is available only at The Playlist Pizzeria.
Lastly from our cookie zone are the Brown Butter Maldon Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies. If you are looking for a cookie with a chunky centre and crispy coating, loaded with chocolate chips and a layer of salt to blend with it, then One Street has just the right ones for you! Pair it with milk, chocolate or whatever you want but I promise you that you will be thinking about these days later while twisting in your bed at 3 a.m.!
It is impossible to go through life without sweetness, let alone desserts! They do wonders to your mood and are the perfect end to your meal. Moreover, if you are looking for the perfect ones, this list right here, will surely lead to the right path and leave you on a sugar high!
